Default Push button start error

Recently, I have been having a problem starting my 2017 Lariat F150 with push button start. When I have this problem the remote start does not work either.
When pressing the push button start, the console returns the message "Depress Brake Pedal to Start". But, obviously I am pressing the brake pedal. After dozens of attempts, luckily it seems to suddenly trigger and I've been luck to get things running. It seems to happen more in cold weather.
Because it is very infrequent and impossible to repeat, I'm guessing what the dealership is going to say ... blah blah blah.
Is there any way for to diagnose a potential problem like this by looking at start attempt history?
Anyone know what might be causing this? It seems like an electronic issue.

Thanks!

Put your fob in the console slot and see if that helps. That's the first thing I would try.

First thing I'd check is your fob battery.

Thanks for the responses. The error I am getting is NOT a missing key error. It is a Press Brake Pedal error. The problem is not related to the fob.

I would check any switches or plugs by the brake pedal.

Default It's the starter

Took the truck into the dealership. They say I need a new starer. BUT, starters are backordered! So, now I have to take the chances of not starting while I wait for a starter, or have to pay for a rental. Lovely.

If its still under warranty then tell they should give you a loaner. The dealership that I take my truck to gives me loaners.
