PSA: Look up master door key code yourself
How to look up master door key code? Not sure if this is common knowledge but I had to search for a bit longer than expected before finding an answer.
My owners manual book did not come with the master door key code paper. I asked the dealer (thought they would have it by VIN lookup) and they wanted $50 to plug into their computer and pull the code. I figured it could be done with forscan so I politely declined, but its actually even easier. If you have two keys the truck will tell you the code on the instrument cluster!
The keyless instructions worked for me on the first try.
Pasted text instructions here for reference:
Keyless Key Fobs
Place first key in the dead key fob battery spot in either the usb tray or cupholder (depending on truck year)
With the key fob in place, leave your foot off of the brake, and tap the start button. After it chimes 3-times, press the start button again.
Replace the key fob with the other key fob with the Ford logo side up.
Again, tap the start button without your foot on the brake. This time after the truck chimes 3-times a message with the door code will pop up on the screen.
Key Method:
Place the first key in the ignition, turn the key so the ignition is on, but not far enough to start the truck.
After the truck chimes 3-times, remove the key.
Now put the other key in the ignition and turn the key on but don’t start the truck.
After the truck chimes 3-times it will display the door code on the instrument display.

You can also pull the passenger kick panel plastic and look at the code printed on the module if you only have one key, but if you have two keys there is no reason to work harder.
