Default Projector headlight options

Looking at some options to upgrade my headlights from OEM halogens to projector headlights. My first thought is the Morimoto XB Hybrid. I am also seeing these, Pro Series Projector headlights that look pretty good and seem to have some decent ratings. Any thoughts on those? Or another good option that I should consider?

I did search this site for anything on the Pro-Series, but couldn't find anything from a basic search.

I can only speak of the Morimoto XB Hybrids. I've had mine for close to two years, and very happy with them. Only thing that I feel could be better would be to have the LED DRL's a bit dimmer, those bad boys are bright! So bright, when starting at night with full brightness, they ruin ayones night vision that are standing in front of the truck!
The others appear to be cheaper, nothing wrong with that, but you know the olde saying about getting what you pay for.

I went with VLand full LED projector lights a few months ago, about $550 on Ebay.
Gets great reviews on Amazon and YouTube.

So far, I really like them..........great light out put, nice looks, and no issues so far.

The Alpharex "Pro Series" are cheaper because they're halogen projectors. If you want to compare apples to apples, look into the Nova or Luxx series from Alpharex.

I've had horrible experience with Morimoto and while their HID kits are somewhat decent quality, I would never consider buying another set of full on headlight assemblies from them based on my experience. If you search Morimoto Hybrid R on here, you can find my experience. The Hybrid R (LED reflector assemblies) are basically unusable junk that have been in a box in my storage room. I would feel like I was robbing someone and putting their life in danger if I actually sold them to someone else to put on their truck. Only reason they're in storage is because I haven't made it to the dumpster yet. I've blown a lot of money on a lot of stupid things in my life, but that was the single worst purchase I ever made from both a product quality and vendor choice standpoint.

While I have personally not seen either of the Morimoto or Alpharex LED assemblies in person from an output standpoint, I have seen a video that did a side by side comparison with multiple angles and drone shots. Output when the trucks were side by side was really not even close. And there was no dimming the image for one, it was a video of them both together shot with a drone.

No doubt, the Hybrid R's are no where near comparable to the XB Hybrids, I wouldn't think they'd be much better, or on a par with, OEM halogens.
I was merely speaking of the options the OP mentioned.

These Alpha Rex are a halogen projector. No way would I spend that much money on headlights that are not going to be much if any improvement over the oem halogen headlights. The XB or XB Hybrids like I have, are actual LED projector and are worlds above the oem halogen lights. Definitely worth the money.

So, I have been focused on getting the XB hybrids and just saw those other ones while looking at other headlights.

I’ve never considered alpharex, unless that what those are? Doesn’t say what brand they are.

the hybrid r were complete and utter trash. They lasted one morning drive to work and they were useless to the point it felt dangerous driving around with them. And the beam pattern was the worst output of light I’ve ever seen aftermarket or OEM on any vehicle. One went out on the second day, I eventually got it replaced, and they’ve been in a box in my storage ever since.

understood on the reasoning, I was just pointing out that the pro series are halogen projectors, which is why they’re cheaper. The price isn’t because “you get what you pay for” from a quality standpoint, it is “you get what you pay for” from a different and outdated (and very likely inferior) technology.

I've had AlphaRex Novas for three and a half years now. Still good light output and the beam cutoff works really well.
