Does anyone know how to "deprogram" a 3rd key? I am trading in the truck and want to remove the 3rd key that I purchased from my current truck and reprogram it to the new truck. Any help is appreciated!

Oh really? Great news. I thought for sure I would have to disassociate it with the current truck, or maybe that it wouldn't program to the new truck since it wasnt "blank" but if this is the case, thats great news.

 

Does anyone take the backup/emergency key into Ford or a locksmith to have it cut for the car? How much is that?

 

if you can find someone with a side mill key cutter. They are like 10 grand and the key blanks are not cheap either

we charge 60 bucks for the back ups (which is standard rate around here)

 

Don't they come with the spare key?

 

Just to be clear, you're not going to take a KEY from vehicle one, that has been cut for vehicle one, and reprogram it for vehicle two. You CAN take a FOB for vehicle one and reprogram it for vehicle two.

 

they do not. if you order the fob that's all you get, the fob. The back up key is separate. Always has been that way and probably always will. Every ford smart fob is that way

 

I'm talking about a new keyfob. I was looking on ebay and it looks like they come with the new uncut key. Is that not so?
