I am about to purchase an SCT X4 Programmer. It comes with three pre loaded tunes for my 2016 5.0 but I would prefer to order custom tunes to accommodate for my tire size, cold air intake and exhaust.

The last time I purchased custom tunes was for my 2006 many years ago through mike at five star tuning. Does he still write custom tunes or is there somewhere else that you guys recommend I look? It's been so long.

Yes, I just got five tunes done by them for my 3.5 EB. Firmed up the shifts a bit, much better throttle response. I haven't tested the speed/acceleration from the stock tune and I'm not sure how much HP/torque it adds but I got mine through Stage 3 with their powertrain warranty, so it'll likely be on the milder side of things.

I like that I can squeak the tires without even having to hammer it now.

5 star is your best bet if you want tow tunes. He leaves all of Ford's safety parameters in place. It may not be the hottest but it will be safe.

 

Agree. 5 star is known for tow tunes. Fastest is ssi. Everyone else in middle.

 

And other guys don't leave the ford safety parameters in?
