Default In Production?

My pickup has been "In Production" since the 11th. Is that normal? Seems like a long time to me.

When I ordered mine it went to in production on the website about a week before it actually went on the line.

Wait for the weekly update, which IIRC happens on Thursday evenings. If your truck is finished and loaded on a truck/train, it will change to in transit. If it is still pending transit it may still show as in production, they don't have an in between.

I'm almost sure mine said something in between, like "completed", and I'm equally positive there was a few days delay before it said in transit.

i have no idea if this is what is happening here or not, but I work at an assembly plant. It only takes 24 hours to go thru the line but if any repairs are needed the vehicle goes out in the yard until it can be brought in to be finished up.

Maybe they are trying to figure out where the extra parts go?

Seriously, Ford has problems updating their website info.

I have a 2017 Edge on order, it is on a train around Salt Lake City today.

But ETIS still has it listed today as a 2015. Built on May 5.

And COTUS? Fuggetaboutit.

COTUS and ETIS were not intended to be used to track an order so it's not out of the ordinary to see some crazy info. The normal system the dealer uses updates build data daily and rail car movements as they happen.

Well it has been 4 years since I last ordered a vehicle, so there may have been some slight changes since then. We never had completed show up when we were tracking Fusions. It went from production to in transit.

If still in production, then there may be a delay in a part that has the truck sitting aside waiting for. Some factory options, like Kicker stereo or other non Ford options may be done by a 3rd party installer once it leaves the line. This was true on the Fusions and Flex, but unsure about the F150 since I never special ordered one.

Correct. The consumer websites are not updated as well as the dealer websites.

Ford knows where every VIN # is at any time, they just may not share it all the time with us peons.(customers)

Their tracking is not like UPS or Fedex. I don't know why not , hint, hint.

After being "In Production" since the 11th my vehicle finally moved to "Awaiting Shipment" this afternoon. But still no window sticker.
