Question Problem with tail lights

Hi everyone.

On my brand new Ford F150 XLT, I've got a very weird problem. All the tail lights (4 bulbs) are still on when I stop the car, the only way to make then turn off is to disconnect the battery.
The brake switch is working because the red light on the roof is turn off, and when I push the brake it light on. But the red light on the tail are always on.
Because I buy this car in Europe and F150 are not regularly imported it's hard to make the warranty work (for beginning I need to travel 700km/440miles....)
I check everything I understand (I'm not very good with electronics) and didn't find anything disconnected, short circuit, etc..
Where should I look ?

Forget to say, few hours before this happen I smell a very strong alcohol smell in the car, I'm guessing it's something to do with the AC, I don't know if it's related with my problem with the tail light.

Thanks

Well going back to inside the car, maybe the smell is now more close to some electronic card fried than alcohol event at the beginning it's very alcohol smell. Maybe some relay who fried. Any idea if they are some relay for back light and...where is this piece of junk ;-) ? (if it's the problem)

Are your front parking lights off when you shut the truck off?

Yes.

On the truck I got the "slow delay shut off light", and when I stop the car, get out, close the doors, the light come to stop after ~10-15 sec, all shut off except the 4 bulbs at the tail of the truck.

The turn light work fine on each direction.

Thanks.

All exterior lighting is controlled through the BCM with solid state (mosfet) outputs, no relays. If something in the BCM is fried it will need to be replaced, most likely by the dealer I don't think it can be done with Forscan due to the key/security programming.

Okay on a new car....it's bad luck ? or it (not **** ) happens ?

Very bad news for me....

Beside the BCM, do you have another guess about where the problem can be ? I put my nose just in the front of the BCM and don't smell any odor. The smell is definitively on the driver side.

Thanks a lot

I know from wiring work on my 2015 the reverse light wire was coming out of the BCM and running through the channel under the passenger side sill. I would assume the tail light wires would do the same but I'm not 100% on that.

If it isn't a faulty BCM then I would guess possibly damaged wire harness.I think you would be best to take it to someone to troubleshoot.

Chances are the tail light wires go through plugs that are on top of the front wheel well on the left side. Then they go under the vehicle along the frame rail to the rear of the truck. I'm pretty sure they leave the cab through the left side up under the dash. Not sure which side your steering wheel is on.

Where are you located?

There are different lighting laws in certain countries (like mandatory rear fog lights) and the modification made to the truck to comply may be the problem.

Hi every one.

Sorry for my looong silence.

SO RL1990 was right, it's come from the modification made by a local company according to french law. In fact they put a relay so they can add some light.

But they made the wrong relay, the relay they put is the one for the led tail light, or it's "normal" light. So the relay fried.

Fortunaly the company was very good and take full responsability an change the relay.

So now everything work fine.

Thanks you guys
