You mean the feature doesn't include the ability to see through steel objects? Sure, let's sue.

Right, I have it only because it is part of the package. I figured since it's there, I'll give it a try.

I think it's more difficult to use vs just driving the truck myself. I actually turned the **** the wrong way because I am used to use a steering wheel. IMO, if you already know how to back a trailer, this system is worthless. I also often pull trailers that aren't mine that will be without the sticker and won't be programed in my truck.

With that, I don't blame Ford for trying.

instructions say watch the screen and control with dash **** obviously watch surround areas however done. do not touch steering wheel. apply gas and brake as necessary, stock mirrors work fine. system does work fine for selected open style trailers. I'm not interested in a suite just wanted to hear from others. and yes I can backup mirrors or shoulder. but its not good for a box style trailer. imo.
I should have watched their ad closer, my fault.

Lol, this is the first thing I thought I'd do if I bought a truck with that feature. If you're used to backing a trailer already, it seems like you'd fight the system.

I think its a nice addition, because guess what, a lot of people CANNOT backup a trailer. Its not for people who already know how to back up a trailer, its for the occasional boat or camper hauler who does not have much experience.

I have not used it, but I think its a great idea and will obviously be improved on in future generations (you expect a first year idea to work perfectly lol), so give it time.

So I tried out the Pro Trailer Backup Assist (PTBA) with my box trailer in a parking lot. It did work as advertised. I ran into some problems when I tried to use it to backup into my driveway. Like everything, this feature needs to be used with common sense. That being said, I enjoy watching people attempt to backup trailers at a local boat launch. I can only stay until my sides hurt from laughing. There is absolutely no common sense or backup capability there. Perhaps PTBA can help out some of those poor folks.

Ford...wanna help me back up my trailer?

Come up with a removable back up camera or add a plug in jack to the back of my truck so as to plug in a mountable camera that I can swap back and forth from my trailers.

sad state of the nation.
