Default Powerstop Z36 Installed

Love these things! Had them on my 2011 and loved them... Stock brakes started to vibrate a little last month so knew it was upgrade time. Installed them last night..
Love the look of them and the added stopping power..

Nice. I couldn't pull the trigger on the Z36 so went with the stock replacements. They are much better than the OEM vibrators but I imagine not near as good as these. Maybe next time around...

Lol, I had them on my 2011 also, and had to put them on my 2018. Yeah I love em too. With 37" tires they make a huge difference, I wouldn't run a big tire with out them.

Did you install these yourself? I’ve been wanting to install these on my 17 XLT but have hesitated due to reading about the need too power bleed the brakes or issues when pushing the pistons back to make room for the new pads. Any advice?

Myself and a coworker did it, took about 2 hours. Only thing that gave us a little fit was getting electronic parking brake into maintenance mode. he had a tool to push the pistons back though so that helped for sure.

I have manual parking brakes so I’m hoping this wouldn’t be a problem

How long did the OEM brakes last? I'm at ~71,000 miles on my truck and they are still doing good for me. Those that have used these multiple times, have y'all noticed the powerstop brakes last considerably more or less mileage on average?

Default Power Stop brake bleeding

I too installed the Power Stop Z36 complete kit which included power coated calipers. Now I am attempting to flush and bleed the system. I vacuumed out the old fluid from the reservoir and replaced it with DOT 4 fluid. I connected my Mityvac vacuum unit to the rear passenger caliper first and let it vacuum for quit awhile but continued to get what looked like foam, lots of air. I switched over to the rear drivers caliper and same thing. I let it run for a long time. Vacuumed about a quart of fluid through the two calipers. I quit for the night. The pedal feels soft and with steady pressure on it, it slowly goes to the floor. I will replace and then flush the front calipers today. Oh, I never let the reservoir get to low. Any advice from the experts?
