Was just reading my owners manual (I'm bored!) and it mentions something in there about not using extension cords with the AC outlets because it "will defeated the safety protection design" whatever that means (OK I was reading the quick reference guide, I'm not that bored)

Might be applicable to power bars.

I think that the worst that could happen with an extension cord would be some voltage drop. I just plugged in a small 120v air compressor over the weekend to air up some trailer tires with no issues.
