I know I've been wanting to mount my 1990's CRT TV on my dash for the longest time...

Now my dreams are dead.

I just picked up my truck the other day, I'm having the same problem with my plugs, they won't charge Milwaukee batteries at the Ford description claims. This is a big issue for me

Is it possible that the Milwaukee charger is of an inferior quality?

The biggest issue is that the dealers has no knowledge and there's no one to talk to about this issue
Have you tried calling ford directly? You should be able to get ahold off someone in the customer care department that can help you get this escalated. I have a feeling this is an issue that will continue to pop up.

You can arm yourself with more data. Do you have access to a multimeter or an oscilloscope? The o-scope would be optimal, but I'm guessing you dont have one (but your dealership should). That would give you very good info on the form of the wave output and voltages.

It is not Milwaukee only issue, same problem with DeWalt.

I contacted ford and was able to only speak to a floor supervisor that offered to pick up the bill for a cheap after market inverter...No way! At this point i am demanding that they will pay for a VERY GOOD inverter that can be installed instead of theirs. They said they will contact me today so i'll keep you posted.

When I get a chance I'll take my Makita charger with me to the dealer and test it. This is a real concern for me as there's many times I could use it to recharge my tool batteries. It's one thing to continually cost cut your components but quite another when you make a big thing about your new 400 watt inverter and advertise it can recharge tool batteries but yet no one can find any brand of tool charger it actually works with.

This is disappointing news for me! I am in the process of purchasing a Milwaukee cordless kit this weekend. Totally agree that Ford was making a big deal about the 400W inverter but sounds like the bean counters are shaving a little too tight in some areas. Shame on Ford for this one.

Not a great solution because the Ford invertor should work but I have a Milwaukee charger that is both 120V and 12V. No invertor necessary. And there are more 12V outlets. I even added one in the bed.

Guys are you ready for the news of the year?!
I contacted ford and the supervisor said an expert will contact me...a person called me claiming to be the electrical tech expert, he asked me for the specs of the charger/battery

Specs are: 110v battery 12v 2.1A

He says well, that's a very powerful battery for a cordless tool and that is why it's not working.

At this point I don't know if I should laugh or cry of his stupidity, does ford expect me to use a tool that is 4v???

He claimed that the battery is withdrawing 270watts
So I told him that it is rated at 400 watts so isn't it working

He said that 270 is the dry calculation (what is dry calculation?) but it actually takes more than 400 watts.

When I asked if I can record him saying that he said he doesn't have time and hang up.

I'm thinking about a law suit with my attorney that deal with lemons and such
