I live in an area that is surrounded by quarry's, and with that a lot of dump trucks hauling stone. Driving home today I met a dump truck going the opposite way and had rocks spilling out the back, unfortunately I took a rock to the breadbox.
Picture is the drivers side and now I am thinking of making lemonade out of lemons.
I have a 2020 XLT 5.0 and believe that there is a radar something or another behind that breadbox for adaptive cruise control which I do not have, is there anything else I need to worry about?
What I would like to do is relocate the license plate to where the broken breadbox is (not sure how to do that yet) and use the middle of the lower grill to install a light bar.
If anyone else has done this on the 18 and up, I would be interested to find out what you did or see pictures of how it turned out.
If you dont have adaptive cruise control there is no reason not to move the plate over it, be aware that if you pull that off the tabs that lock it in are prone to breaking so you have to be careful, personally I would probably drill holes in it where the bolts go and use some good quality locking style push pins to hold the plate on, I dont think its thick enough to allow a screw to tighten at all.
If you are unsure if you have adaptive cruise control pull that trim piece off or see if you can look through the hole to double check there is not a black box about the size of a box of Uno cards present.

If you are in Wisconsin you might need a spot for a block heater plug.
Judging by the closed panel next to the "breadbox" in the OP's picture, the truck doesn't have a block heater. Otherwise, it would be open with just 2 vertical bars for the license plate holder.

Live in WI but no block heater. I had it on other vehicles and never used it.

I don't have ACC so I am good there. Right now I am trying to source the breadbox for a 2020 they are all over the place for 15-17 and cheap $30, but are all one piece. Does anyone know the part number for the right side breadbox? Is the lower grill one piece like on the 15-17 or are they 3 pieces? I think its 3 pieces not sure. I will get out there tomorrow and take a closer look when its not pouring rain.
You were lucky, as that is about the least expensive thing to get damaged (provided no further damage was done by the rock) on the front of the truck and it can be easily replaced, or modded to something else you like better. Hope it works out for you.
