Post Battery Installation Behavior
My battery went dead, so I installed new one yesterday. The owner's manual provides a list of items to reprogram after the replacement such as (1) radio presets, (2) window bounce back, and (3) clock. The old battery was completely removed from the truck for several hours before I installed the new one. After replacement, I discovered that everything worked the same as the pre-battery replacement with the exception of the clock. The clock reset automatically within 15 seconds of Sync powering up, bounce back works using a pool noodle, all radio presets work, and my phones show up and connect normally. Is this normal behavior after a battery replacement, since it clearly is not the expectation in the manual?
It does appear that the transmission entered in the adaptive relearn process as expected, and I drove around for 10 miles to reset the fuel mapping. I reset the TPS at the same time.
I discovered that the Ford parts website only shows the BH48H6730 battery when selecting 2016 Ford F150 5.0L. My local parts department also pulled up the BH48. If I search Ford parts by VIN, the correct battery type shows up in the catalog. It appears to be a widespread issue. Oreilly, Advance Auto, Napa, (online) and Costco (phone) all spec'd out the wrong battery. Autozone was the only store who provided the correct battery type. I was calling around to find a Johnson Controls manufactured battery. When I removed the original battery, I noticed it was a BXT94RH7730 and found one at Costco who sells Interstate batteries now.

It appears the BXT94xxxxxxx is rated for non auto start v6 vehicles. If that is what you took out, it was not the correct one for 5L .
The BH48xxxxxx has already been superseded by an A designation.
After market vendors have their own parts program and often is not updates with correct information.
Better research this again.
I would believe you want the BH48 battery.
Neither one is an AGM type.
Good luck.
The BXT94RH7730 is the correct battery. It is the original equipment from the factory and shows in the Ford catalog using my VIN number. However, a search of most part catalogs including Ford using "2016 Ford F150 5.0L" pulls up the BH48H6730, which caused some confusion.
Motorcraft "BXT" are their "Tested Tough Max" line and "BH" is their "Fleet Tough/Extra" line. The specs are as follows:
BXT-94H7-730
730 CCA
RC is 140 min
BH-48H6-730A
730 CCA
RC is 115 min
I would pick the one with the higher Reserve Capacity if they both cost the same. My F150 has the BXT-94H7-730 battery from the factory.

Catalogues are only as good as the people who research, write, edit, and publish them. For the aftermarket equipment manufacturers it is a huge job to follow all the vehicle OEMs and their changes and keep their catalogues up to date.

Why not go with the AGM version of the Motorcraft 94R if that's the size you want? It's nice not having a wet cell battery that requires topping off, can spill/vent some acid, etc.

Also, did you reset the BMS using Forscan?
I would also check in Forscan to see which battery size and type is set in the BMS. That's probably what matters more than actually selecting what the truck originally came with (if you ended up with the larger size now)?

I used the overnight procedure to reset the BMS SOC. A local shop is resetting the battery age on Monday. The AGM requires a change in the "as-built" with ForScan. I do not have a laptop configured for Windows software. I think everyone jumped on the battery type bandwagon, but the original question was regarding the lack of system resets after having the battery disconnected for several hours.
