Default Possible IWE issue?

I have a 2015 3.5 EcoBoost F150. 15.5k miles on it. No lift kit. Haven't had too many issues with it until yesterday.

I get off work and head home. It's about a 10 min drive, mostly on the Interstate. I get off on my town exit and start going about 20mph and I hear a nice grinding noise coming from the driver side front wheel. I can also feel it a bit in the steering wheel and floorboard. I hit the brakes and it immediately stopped. I just chalked it up as running over some gravel or something and thought nothing of it.

Then I go to work tonight and it does it again on the interstate when I'm going 70mph. Same grinding noise and grinding feel on the floorboard and steering wheel. Again, I hit the brakes and it immediately stops. Ever since I've been looking online for possible issues and everything seems to be pointing to the IWE. I'm going to take it by the dealership on Monday to see what they think but I was hoping for some ideas from the community.

The fact that it stops when you hit the brakes, tells me it's something which the brakes, a rock or something stuck in with the pad. Definitely have it checked out

Yea, i'm betting issue with the brake area, maybe a rock or something stuck up there. Doesn't sound like the IWE system to me. Let us know what they find.

I believe its the IWE. my opinion is when you hit the brakes or let off the gas you are creating more vacuum and therefore the noise is gone. The IWE work off of vacuum.
next time you here the noise stay steady at that speed or accelerate slightly, while you here the noise switch the 4x4 **** to 4auto and give it second to engage. see if the noise goes away. here is a video of mine.

That is exactly what mine sounds like. Like a soda can grinding up in the hub.

I don't have 4A though on my system, just 4H and 4L. Would it be okay to switch it to 4H? I'm not super mechanically inclined..

The truck didn't do it on the way back home this morning

Default Did you fix it?

Same thing happened with mine (actually on my 2015 and my 2012). It was so intermittent the dealer couldn't find it on the 2015. It would happen every couple of weeks, vary sporadic. I took it home after they had it for (2) days and ran through the entire vacuum system for the hubs. It turned out to be the small check valve in front of the brake booster for the IWEs; $5 at the auto part store and it was fixed.
