Default Please help!

I'm new to the forum, had to register to get advice. I've ordered a lariat scab with the 5.0 v8. I've already changed my order once and was given a vin a week ago. Now I want to make another change, I want to switch gears from 3.31 to 3.55. Just spoke to the dealer and he said nothing can be done. Cotus is showing no match for the vin. I put quite a bit of money down and don't want to start a battle with the dealer, but with the amount of money I'm paying for this truck I don't want to settle for anything less than the exact truck I want. Surely something can be done. Any help is greatly appreciated! Sorry this post is not as detailed as I would like it to be but I'm doing it on a android phone on a boat off the coast of Maine

So you ordered, then changed it, then want to change it again? Decisive?

Read your paperwork. If your deposit is fully refundable, as it should be, go get your money back and order elsewhere. If it isn't, which would be unusual, either take what you ordered or lose your deposit.

Deposit should be $500, max of $1,000. More than that is totally unreasonable.

I know, not very decisive, right? One of my shortcomings. Still, doesn't mean I should be penalized by paying for a truck that I won't be happy with, and don't want the dealer to be stuck with it either. They have been good to me so far. Saw on another post that someone was able to change the color after they had their vin for one month.

I have the opposite problem - I build it 1000 times on the Ford website, then I DON'T buy it.

Once you have a VIN, the factory has already pulled the order and is ready to slot it for production, which means no changes can be made (I think). If it is possible, it would delay your build.

I'm close, I think I have built 987. I will be ready to place my order in August.

I was wondering who was responsible for the 225,000 unprecedented Build and Prices touted by Ford that never materialized into sales. Of course I was responsible for about 1,500 but I did buy one truck.
I probably made 3 changes to my order but all were pre-Vin number, but I remember the salesman saying that some changes were not a problem, ie: color but axle, gearing and engine were not possible after the vin.

I didn't count my builds but the truth would be a silly boy number!

OP is asking for help-Ford said no, whats else is there to offer the op?-counseling for becoming a better decision maker?

Seriously, as the dealer said it is beyond the point of change-contact Ford customer relations or a non-dealer information source ASAP!
there is a term in the car buying world called "buyers remorse" and in certain states there are consumer laws that make it possible for "people like you"? To turn back a deal in a certain time frame-know your states allowances in this area if you have a serious deposit out on the deal. Some dealers even have a policy for after the delivery date concern. Ask.

.
Agreed. Contact customer relations. Brittany or Crystal won't be able to change your order, but they might be able to tell you if it's possible, or point you in the right direction.

Send them a PM.

Thanks for the feedback. I have sent a PM to FordService. Waiting to hear back. FYI, the reason I'm trying to change is that I read on these very forums of several people who were able to make changes after they has been assigned a vin.
