Default Platinum tailgate

Hey Platinum owners, any one of you take off the giant thing on the tailgate. I see that it is just a giant emblem, but not sure how much tape they used... Have a Ruby Red, and not sure if there is a wrap that would match it

Plastic retaining clips are used to secure it to the tailgate, lots of them.

I guess I don't get it.

We bought a 2017 K/R with the chrome package. The tail gate trim was a part of it. As best my memory serves me that piece is +/- $550.00. I didn't buy the chrome package to brag about what our truck does/doesn't have, OR to try to impress anyone. But I bet a dealer would penalize you if you don't have it on there when you trade/sell it.

WHY would you want to remove it, or complain about it??

I bought a box of the plastic trim tabs because I was planning to pull the tailgate applique to paint it or wrap it. I never ended up doing it.

I have the box in a storage unit, if I remember right. If there's any interest in them, I'll try to dig them out.

LOL, this is what I just posted 5 minutes ago on another thread complaining about the Platinum tailgate. BTW, I've gotten several positive comments about the letters, especially by the dealer's service people. And that is Ruby Red.

LOL, or you could spend $30 or so on E-Bay, and embrace it and make it your own. So the people driving behind you know exactly what model that beautiful truck they are following actually is.

If you still have this box of plastic trim tabs, please send me a PM.
