See, that's what I need to score. I can negotiate a pretty good price that's under invoice, but want to sweeten the deal with a $3500 PCO.

Thanks for the guidance - I was looking at a fully loaded Lariat initially but going Platinum seems to make sense.

That's a sweet deal, was the PCO email, brochure or popup?
What state or zipcode if you dont mind. I've had no luck with PCO and my platinum should be arriving soon.

I'm coming from a 501A with a sticker of $53k. Looked at 502A and said well @$57k I might as well add adaptive cruise and tech. Oh 62k now, I might as well go Platinum. Now I'm at $64k and waiting for a PCO since I "might" be keeping this one.

I bought my fully-loaded Platinum for almost $10K off ($66,940 vs $57,000)... but had to go get it 600 miles away. Like some said already, Ford makes a lot less of those expensive trucks, and demand is higher than lower trims, so simple economics dictate discounts are less. I only got $5K off on the only one in El Paso, and the wrong color (black), out of 3 large dealerships. The Austin dealer where I ended up buying it had 8, and also gave me a much better deal on my 2018 Audi S6 trade (actually an even exchange overall). So 600 miles each way and an overnight stay were easily worth the trouble for me.

I'm in central Mn. I was negotiating my "build" with 3 different dealers. I had the lowest price from a dealer with whom I had bought from before and was taking a few days to think things over.

Last Monday, 2 of the dealers called me and said I was on their list for a Private Offer of $3,500. I had never heard of such a thing, but it really helped me decide what to do. So I put in an order the next day. I did not and (so far) have not received any other contact from Ford...just from the dealers.

Both dealers said that Ford selects a certain number of people (selection criteria unknown, but you have to somehow be in their database) from each of their districts and awards varying amounts of $$. In the last 6 or so years, I had purchased a new Platinum and a new KR, so maybe historical buying has something to do with the amount. Who knows? But both dealers said that mine was about the largest amount they can remember. I guess about $1,000-$1,500 is more usual. However, I ain't going to question anything. The luck of getting it at that time and for that amount while I was already going to buy is unreal! THANK YOU FORD!!

It is funny how my experience was different in the fact that after thinking about what truck I was going to purchase, I decided to get the truck that I wanted with the options that I desired instead of looking all over the east coast trying to find the "deal" for a vehicle. With that said, I would never claim that I got my truck for "$10K off sticker", but the deal that I got from my dealer in southern New Jersey was within a few dollars of the "$10K discount deal" price of the equivalent trim/similarly equipped trucks in northern Virginia and eastern Maryland. Sadly, after you read the fine print, you find that the "heavy discounts" they offer at dealers in the mid-Atlantic (like the "WOW Price" at one chain) do not include some of the line items on the sticker that need to be added back to the price of the truck. Plus they stack on some serious documentation fees which negates the discount they show almost altogether. In the end, I am extremely happy because I got the exact truck that I wanted with 90% of the accessories already installed from the factory and what I thought was an extremely fair deal. It was a win-win scenario for me.

And if I ever get a chance to meet the man that placed the "green sticker" special order for Piper Badwolf in March 2018, I want to say thank you and shake his hand because it is exactly the way I would have ordered my truck as well. I was extremely blessed it was still on the lot when I purchased it on July 17th.

When I was searching I found that dealers were not willing to offer really deep discounts on the higher trims and as many have already mentioned, the factory rebates are always less or non existent for Lariat and up. The biggest issue for me was I wanted one without a hole in the roof (seems to be extremely rare). When dealers were able to find one, they either wouldn’t deal hardly at all or the dealer with the truck wouldn’t trade it to them. Gotta love supply and demand. lol

But whatever you want. But before you buy any Ford truck just scroll through all the threads on problems w 3.5’s, 5.0’s 10-sp tranny whines, lug nut failures, etc.

Before you get into long term debt in a depreciating commodity do your research.

Then just buy whatever you want but at least you’ve been warned.

. Trucks (even with the sunroof) that were Max Tow with the 5.5' bed and tow mirrors are not listed on the dealer system as being available for trade at most dealers. A salesman that I know at a local dealer went out and looked for 3 trucks that I found and none of them could be traded to that dealer that is 4 miles from my house. So I made an appointment at the NJ dealer to have the truck that I bought prepped for a test drive so I could check it out to prepare to purchase it. These dealers know what trucks will be in demand and want to keep that sale for themselves.

But like I said in an earlier post, just because my truck was not to be traded to another dealer, that did not mean they did not work out a really fair deal that I accepted. At the end of the day, it could have cost me more in fuel and time to go to Stirling, VA to get a similar truck for the "WOW" price than pay a fews bucks more in south Jersey. Although, Virginia paperwork cannot be as difficult to complete as the crap I have to go through to get a car in New Jersey. At the end of the day, it was less than a car payments difference to step up to the Platinum from the 502A and purchase the truck locally instead of driving across the country to get a deal.
