Plasti Dip for undercoating???

It's NOT the way to go for undercoating! It's a thin rubber coating - rocks will knock it loose - I can see mud causing larger chunks to peel off. Bad, bad idea! I have used the stuff - it has it's uses but high wear is not it's forte.

On a side note, I was thinking about pastidipping a custom two-tone color on my Platinum. It's still on order so I have a few weeks to decide, but I really like the the two-tone contrast on the new trucks.
I ran into this truck last week, looks great. My Platinum would be Ingot Silver with dark silver bottom.

Dupli-Color instead
Well I did some online research (if you can call googling research), and many people have used plasti dip with no problems for under the car, but, truck bed liner seems to be a more durable option. The product I chose is Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating. The only bad thing I read about using this will be down the road trying to unscrew or unbolt anything that got coated. I will be using it really just on the frame and rear end. I HATE asphalt spray on undercoating as I have always found it to peel, drip, and just not even look good overall. Some may ask why do this and not just oil spray?? Well I don't want to have to take it in every year and if I can encapsulate the metal now with bed liner, then she should stay rust free for years to come. I guess time will tell.
P.S. I picked this one as some guys on jeep forums swore it was the best stuff, but I have never tried, so don't base any brand choice for your truck by my choice.
