For me not really, but it would be if I wasn't tall enough to reach the bottom of the bed from outside easily

Well I am an old man and avg height.....I told selling dealer, who was really great, if they would install these two steps on unit then we could close deal. They agreed.....I don't use them often, but they are really convenient when needed. Stock unit did have tailgate step, which I had never thought much about...but I do also like it FWIW.

Mud/grass catchers in my opinion. But then again so are the side steps. I'm also 6'6" so kinda don't need'em.

I've been contemplating adding a bed step on my driver's side just for the potential of a little extra reach. I'm 6'2" and don't have issues reaching the bottom of the bed, but a little more horizontal reach would be nice.

worth it for me. aftermarket seems to be more expensive and I like OEM function and style.

Worth it. Especially if you're a little older with back issues.

I don't like the looks but I do like the functionality. I'm 6'3" and can reach the bottom fine but the step allows me to reach stuff in the middle without climbing my fat ars in the bed.

Have an OEM side step on drivers side and an AMP step in the back. Well worth it.

Have the side steps on my 2011 SCrew 4x4 6.5' and ordered them again on my '16 platinum. I use mine constantly when reaching into the center of the bed area and I think they are well worth the extra cost. Much cheaper to order them installed from the factory too! The tailgate step is a must have for this old man!

A word of caution.... while standing on the side step and reaching into the bed be careful of those big cowboy belt buckles to prevent scratching the truck sides! (May apply only to those individuals located in the Western US - may also cause cancer in California.)
