Default Peeling paint

I noticed this after washing and drying my truck. The paint on the top of the driver's side back door is peeling off. I showed it to the dealer during a scheduled maintenance. It looks like a manufacturer's defect, but unfortunately, the warranty had run out. Does not seem worth it to paint the whole door. Any suggestions? I just don't want the peeling to spread any further.

Rear driver's side door on a SCREW. Paint has worn off.

Hey fastrz. Are you saying that this is an easy job? I'll probably get ripped off if I take it to a body shop.

I don't think the robots in the paint building know, or care, what day it is.

Especially since they work 7 days a week.

He's insinuating that the paint job was done carelessly on a Friday when the plant workers were ready for the weekend, but as another user posted, these trucks are not painted by humans. Might be worth taking to a body shop to get a quote, but it will likely be expensive as they'll probably want to blend it with other body panels so that the color flows more evenly. I'm not a paint expert, just something I remember from a couple years back when I took my mom to get some body work done on her car.

Is It white? If so they seem to have more issues than others, no idea why. You'd think white is easy.

Looks like an easy fix, I'd just really check the other doors carefully.

Well I would get a can of that good match paint and mask that off really well and give it a coat. It is as the top of the door where you can't see anyways. Only you will know
it is there.

I’d assume that will continue to peel. I would get it fixed properly. It wouldn’t be too expensive, I had a door painted on my last truck from someone smashing their door into mine and it was only 400 Canadian.

Aluminum is not a friend of paint.
Paint does not like to adhere to aluminum.
