Default Payload Capacity

I searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. Is there a way to know the trucks payload by using the VIN number or is the only way to tell by looking at the sticker on the door jamb?

Or weigh your truck and subtract from your GVWR.

I'm getting ready to trade my 2016 in for a 2019. My local dealer doesn't have one with the options I'm looking for so they will have to bring one in from another dealership and I want to make sure when they do that it has plenty of payload for my travel trailer. The F150 I have now has 1907 lbs of payload. I'd like to have at least that much on the new one.

If you're shopping XLT's it would be best to get one with the HDPP. You're at the upper limits of non-payload package trucks I would think.

Just remember, the more options, the lower the payload.

What I have now is the 302A, front captain chairs, heated seats, keyless start and the basic tow package, and Blis. I swapped in a 36 gallon fuel tank, no sun roof. Id like to get one with the same options except add the max tow option, but I'm not sure how that would affect the payload. Max tow also comes with 20" wheels, so I wouldn't be able to keep my brand new load E tires....

I I would definitely find one with the Heavy Duty Payload Package. That will do more for you than even the Max Tow. Max Tow does not seem to increase the payload capacity a single pound.

Right, max tow does not increase payload. Max tow includes a beefer hitch and other things. Only HDPP increase payload
