Default Passenger work table

An idea that might come in handy - my spouse often has work to catch up on charting while we drive to camp on the weekend or sometimes on vacation - came up with this rig - supports laptop linked to hot spot on cell phone. Inexpensive 3/4" shelf board and non-slip cover. Can also be used to hold fast food so you can be fed french fries as you drive. Completely cantilever supported - fits into the notch at the back of the glove box.

Interesting... this could be perfected and mass/produced? Maybe it already is?

Innovative, but I would be concerned about the down pressure on the glovebox door. Those French fries could end up on the floor. Remember the imprints on glovebox doors many years ago for your drinks? The doors stopped lying flat, and the drink s became too large, so that went away.

I didn't notice the "Cantilever supported" part of your post. So there is no pressure on the door? Better innovation!

I like it, but I agree that an additional support to avoid losing that glove box support will be great.... its just a lot of thin plastic in that glove box.
a bump in the road could put enough pressure to bring it down.
maybe just a removable bar (show in green) in the middle to support the tray from a bar supported between the seat rails to limit it

....

Nope, it doesn't rest on the door, but on the upward tray part. The notched end stays nice and stable in the recess in the back of that tray. Not sure, but perhaps different model years have different measurements. As for the fries on the floor - not that way I gobble them down! :-)
