Parking Sensor Question
Will heavy rains affect the rear parking sensors? I recently backed into a pole during a fairly heavy down pour and my sensors didn't beep prior to the collision.

From my experience, usually rain, dirt, snow, and other debris will give a false positive, meaning the sensor goes off when nothing is really in front of it, but I haven't had this happen in any of my vehicles. My wife's SUV has had this happen and wiping it off, made it stop. She doesn't wash her car like I wash my truck.
My guess, faulty sensor possibly if it didn't go off at all. While you have the dent, I'd find a pole and back up towards it on both sides, see if you get the beeping.

I am frustrated about the sensor failure, but also take responsibility for the collision. I have always had good luck with using the sensors in the past, so this one took me by surprise.
