I'll try to find the thread. Yeah, its heart breaking to find, but I really never notice it anymore.
save yourself the time and stress, move on

I bought a '15 XLT Sport in Blue Flame that had paint defects likely caused at the dealership during prep for my pick-up, that took a month for them to fix (it sat at the dealer's body shop in El Paso for a month, yes a month). The body shop kept messing it up: bubbles in the clear coat, primer on the driverside mirror, drips failure to buff in the clear coat, etc, etc, etc). After 28 days at the body shop (I hadn't even taken the truck home after signing the paperwork) I finally got my truck back after having the entire left front, left door and hood repainted. In the end the F150 logo fell off, and I could never get a shine in the areas they repainted.
I have never seen anything like this. They actually tried to swap it out with another of the same body and it was in worse shape.
I ended up getting Ford to take the vehicle back about 5 months later and picked up the '16 in my sig. Needless to say it pays to go over your vehicles with the utmost thoroughness you can stand, once it leaves the lot, your options start dwindling.
Oh and never go to Casa Ford in El Paso. If you need to know why, send me a PM.

I appreciate all the replies. I don't want the thread to get too far afield. My issue is not a dealer prep problem, it is clearly a manufacturing quality problem. I really don't want to discuss various horror stories assuming the worst. GSB 98 doesn't appear to apply. GSB 26 may apply as discussed in this thread.
So far the dealer is indicating I should bring it in and that it will be covered by Ford since it looks much worse than other vehicles. I suppose the dealer could be wrong and it will ultimately be rejected by Ford. It could be that the dealer winds up covering it. I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it.
My first reaction was...should I do anything? I believe the consensus is that I should at least try to get it fixed. I was concerned about causing additional problems by trying to fix what amounts to a purely cosmetic problem that I may have never noticed had it not been sitting on a rack at the shop doing my lift.
As soon as I get my vehicle back, I will take it into the dealer and have them do a warranty claim. Unfortunately, it has taken more than two weeks to get the paint work, lift, and tires completed because of all the flooding in Houston (which made it so employees couldn't come in or closed access to certain businesses, etc.). Then we can see what happens after that. As it stands, I've had my truck for almost three weeks and have yet to really drive it. This is the last thing I wanted.
I will also point out that I looked at many trucks on the lot. Many of them had similar problems but it wasn't nearly as bad. Most of them I couldn't tell except by extremely close inspection. So, in my case, the warranty may yet apply. I will update next week when I take it in.
