Just noticed peeling roof seams on mine after a wash. It’s parked outside, but hand washed frequently and waxed twice a year. Including the roof. I remember looking at those seams when it was new and thinking to myself it looked sloppy.
Same b.s. here. Ford body shop says 100% it's a defect from the factory. Obviously the peeling process started before warranty was out, but I didn't notice. It's on the roof of a 7ft tall truck. Nobody looks there on a regular basis, especially to scrutinize seam lines.
Ford dealer BODY shop says Ford has done good will paint repairs on 3 vehicles at his shop alone just this year. All out of warranty. Some paid 100%, others spit 50/50. I'm happy with even the 50/50 split at this point.
Here's my b.s.:... truck has 30k miles. 30 thousand.
FWIW, I did have this same issue on my last truck (a Frontier). But it happened at about 10 years of age, and was stored outside. I suspect it has to do with this being a glued seam and there some flex? I don't know exactly how the roof is constructed though.
Seeing this on a ~3 year old truck with 30k miles is just unacceptable.
Did you ever resolve this paint peeling? It just started on the roof seams on my 2017 F150. Last time I had a paint issue was two 1989 Chevy Suburban and Blazer. The white paint came off with a garden hose, like happened today on these roof seams.
