Default Paint Chip

Hey all,

Found a small chip in the paint on the roof, must have been from a rock or something. Should i cover that up with some sort of touch up paint to prevent it from chipping?

I've had good luck using the factory touch-up kit and something called the Langka system. There are several good videos on YouTube demonstrating it if you are interested. Either way, you should use something to protect that area or you might develop a small rust spot.

I purchased the touch up paint from my dealer for 18 bucks. It has the base coat and the clear coat at the other end of the pen. The magnetic color matched my truck perfectly, un like the lava red I bought from the Nissan dealer for my previous truck. It is worth the 18 dollars to touch it up as it can start to corrode if it's bare metal.

I put a scratch in my white platinum metallic paint, heard a lot of good things about Dr Colorchip so I ordered a kit. They were very clear up front about the pearl in my paint and how it might not match perfectly. And it didn't, in hind sight I wish I would have tried the factory touch up instead. For most paints though it looks like Dr Colorchip works great.

Tri stage touch ups almost never match. The red ones match better than the white, but still.

I use Doctor Color Chip and the very nice factory touch up paint on my Magnetic. If I take my time, and build up the Doctor Color Chip I can improve rock chips tremendously. To the point where they are very hard to see.

I use the touch up from the dealer also. I've always had good results!

I just ordered this one on ebay looks to be the same as what the dealers offer. Its being shipped out today so hopefully I will be able to try it out this weekend.
