Default Paint

I was finally giving my new truck a wash and wax after winter is done here. I had bought some Jax wheel cleaner and also some Armor Shine wax. I had washed the truck, dried it, and went over it with the armor shield. I ran out of time Thursday so finished the roof area after work today. As I was waxing with the Armor Shine I noticed one area like 3" dia that has like bubbles under the paint.
I could NOT believe it.
Winter set in last fall and I never got to wax the roof. Used the car wash a few times this winter. So since new I hadn't got up and close with the roof.
I'll post a photo and hopefully you can see the bubbles. To me factory paint is just that. As good as it gets. I hate the thought of a 2020 truck having to strip and repaint the roof. Its under the paint. It must of had something on the aluminum when the robot sprayed it. Its close to center drivers side.

Make sure you get a loaner on their dime, while the dealer fixes it..

Wow...yeah, not good. Keep us posted. I've seen a few threads about poor paint adhesion, I'd actually noticed a couple of places on my tailgate that are 'thin' or missing...

Although it sucks...I'd rather have the top of the roof re-painted than the sides of the body or the hood.

Can you get a better picture? From that angle I don't think it's bubbles. If the robot spit some debris(happens all the time) just have it cut and buffed. Dealer shops are a crap shoot unless they farm out their work. You could get the experienced painter, or you could get the kid that normally sweeps floors on warranty.

Start with a more conservative repair. Before immediately going to repaint

I tried to take more photos but the shine is so bad its almost impossible to see , sun or cloudy.
So do I go back to the tiny half *** dealer I hate that I bought it from ? Or go to a bigger dealership like Rowe ?

Thats going to be a hard no. Factory Ford paint is just barely acceptable. Ive got a 20 year old 911 turbo with flawless paint, my f150 (and everyone Ive ever seen) has orange peal in it. Your roof does not surprise me at all.
