Default Pace Edwards Jack Rabbit ?

I was thinking of going with this cover for the bed of my new 5.5 bed 2017.

Any reason why I shouldn't

I've used the Roll n Lock's in the past, but I like the design of this one better, especially that it doesn't require screwing a rail to the tailgate.

I just installed the Pace Edwards Switchblade Metal cover last week. Liking it so far. Install was pretty easy. Only issue was they included the wrong hardware pack. They actually included the hardware pack for the Jack Rabbit. I was able to buy what I needed from a local hardware store and Pace Edwards express shipped me a new hardware pack.

I am interested in the switchblade for my new 2017. The price is amazing but I'm concerned about the material they used on the top whats it made out of and do you have any concerns with it? It almost looks like its a canvas material and if so I wouldn't want that. But other then that I am ready to order the switchblade. Where did you order it and how much was it?
Thanks for your input.

I got the switchblade metal so it has powder coated aluminum panels. I wanted to stay away from the vinyl covers.

I bought mine at realtruck.com for $1365. The site showed the shipping date to be March 7-10 but it arrived on March 2nd.

We just got our first real rain since I installed it last night so I will check for leaks today.

I've had the Jackrabbit on my 5.5 bed for the better part of a year now. Being in Quebec, that means all types of weather. Very hot to very cold, and everything in between.

For the most part, I love it. It's exactly what I wanted. I didn't want a cover that obstructed my rear window when open.

The Jackrabbit has vinyl covered metal slats.
It is not noisy, however you do hear it vibrating in the wind at highway speeds with the rear sliding window open. I don't consider this to be a deterrent.

Yes, it does leak. I have a bedrug and there are wet areas after a rainfall. Most bed covers leak.

My only gripe with it, is that the powdercoating is not the best I have seen. I have had both rails, the black cover over the roller, and the edge where the lock is located replaced under warranty by Pace Edwards due to bubbling and/or flaking of the powdercoated panels. They were good about it. They simply requested pictures of the issues and sent me the parts at their expense.
However, I have now noticed that one of the replaced rails is again showing some bubbling. I'll be contacting them again soon.

My dad has had a Switchblade on his Duramax for almost a year. No issues & only a tiny leak from the corners where the tailgate meets the bed.
