Default P1450 big bill

My cel lit up recently so took to the dealer.

My cel lit up recently so took to the dealer. Diagnosed as the fuel tank pressure sensor due to undercoating contamination. Never heard of this before, always had done at Krown. Dealer said they should have known to avoid that area. Cost $1400 (Canada)

Yup. This is the part they need to change. List price is over $600 in Canada. It's a pain to change out too.

FL3Z-9C015-A Connecting Hose. This is for the extended range fuel tank. List is actually $650.80.

I have the same question as post #4. What is this "undercoating contamination" causing specifically?

It more than likely means that undercoating got into one of the vents on the sensor and clogged it up.

I changed that part out - and it didn't fix my problem. It's not covered by the ESP either.

Not to second guess the diagnosis here, but I've fixed many, many P1450 codes by replacing a malfunctioning EVAP purge solenoid.
