Default Ordered 2018 Limited

Just got off the phone with dealer, ordered 2018 Limited - Shadow Black, tow package, 355, tailgate step, mats, extended fuel tank, stowable loading ramps & wheel well liner. They will add, leveling kit, tonneu cover (hard 1 piece) and new wheels&tires. He thinks 3 months.

Trading in 2016 Platinum with mostly the same stuff as above.

How does it work ordering a truck? Do you just pay the MSRP? I have been tempted because I am very picky about every option and have a hard time finding what I want and always have to sacrifice something.

You go in and sit down at a computer and start ticking boxes. The sales manager will printout an order sheet that details the model and all the option codes that you selected. It throws an MSRP and you then negotiate like you normally do, including X/A/D plan if you can/qualify for.

My buddy's brother owns the dealership - I just tell him what I want and he orders it (goes down the list and checks the boxes, he knows me well, so its more like what I don't want). He then orders it, I get any "deals" that are happening at the time it is delivered. I lose money ordering a new truck, but get what I want. I then "usually" sell my old truck to a friend, currently 5 people are interested in a 2016 loaded Platinum with 19,000 miles. I sell it to them at trade in value and do an in/out to save the taxes through his dealership.

He will level the truck, add the hard cover, spray in the liner and put on the new wheels/tires that I pic.

Anyone have any good options besides Fuel wheels????

Thanks for sharing..... a couple questions..
- does the 2018 Limited only come with the Blue interior?
- the tailgate step isn't an option is it? thought it was standard
- what type of level kit, and are they giving you the Limited wheels back, or are they keeping and giving you a deal on new wheels/tires?

Thanks. Good luck.

You're talking to the wrong dealers. Ones that want to sell the 2017s on their lot. The 2018 order bank has been open for almost a month.

So if you can order, what's the horsepower and torque figures on the new engines. Can't find it anywhere on the net and I wouldn't buy anything blind. Surely Ford isn't expecting customers to buy blind without knowing what the truck's ratings are.
