Default Options Help

I am going to pull the trigger on a new 2015 Super Crew. It appears I will have to order one unless I am willing to pay a bit more to get what seems to be more available. Most of the trucks out there have a few more options than I was looking for. Is the navigation system on the Ford's worth it? Do they charge for updates? Also, most everything I have seen has the 3.31 axle ratio. I have decided on the 5.0 FX4. I tow a 3,500LB boat, but that is about it. Will that axle cost me in performance or towing?

My thoughts would be to add the max tow package, tow mirrors and the extended range tank.(36 gal). This would get you an axle ratio right in the middle. 3.55 I believe. It would be a good little towing truck.

Max tow is not available with the 5.0. The 3.31 will not have as much get up as 3.55 obviously, but you will be able to tow a 3,500 lb boat fine. The 3.55s may be worth it for you, though. I went that route.

The navigation is worth it. U do have to pay for map updates if you want them. Let us know how u like the 5.0 w more horsepower. I have a 2013 fx4 screw w 5.0. Tows my 6000 lb boat n trailer just fine.

Thanks guys. Basically, I would have to opt for the 502a package and 3.31 axle to get one today. I wasn't sure if that was worth an additional $2,700 and possible knock on performance.

The 3.55 axle is the middle of the 3 offered and I have it in my truck. It makes driving a fun experience as it has a good amount of acceleration from a stop and will make passing very pleasurable. I imagine towing would be a little easier with it as well.
