Looking at a 2019 Platinum built on 11-30-18. It is a unicorn as it was a special order without a sunroof which is good as I dont want to pay for one and they tend to take up too much head room.
What kind of discounts should I see as they have been sitting on it for about 6 months?
There use to be a small blue tag on the vehicle info page on the website. It was to signify there was additional rebate/discount for that particular unit as it was aged inventory.
Keep in mind dealers are given certificates from Ford to help make a sale. $250-1000/customer.
Besides, there's a PCO available too. Mine is at $2k and not sure if there's higher amount available.
All the best in your hassling the sales weasel for the lowest price.
Just remember that when a truck sits on a lot for too long it becomes dealer property. Meaning it is no longer on consignment from Ford, but has to be bought by the dealership. This means the dealership is either paying bank interest to have this sit on the lot, or it is eating into their cash flow. Because of this they are probably willing to move a little more on it than they would other trucks that have just come in.
Hope this helps in your pursuit.
I just bought a 2018 about a month ago. Dealer was motivated to sell so he knocked off the cost of the extras then took off an additional $3000 to make it fit within my budget. The reduction was $13,000 CAD and change. Granted, the 2018's have been sitting on the lot since early 2017, and they were rolling out the 2020's when I came along.
Not sure if it would make any difference but it was a customer ordered truck who backed out on it?
Good question, though I really couldn't say if it was one or not. I do know that we've had a few pretty harsh downturns in the economy. We're a forestry based industry town that's gone through a few mill closures, numerous large wildfires and curtailment of shifts on the remaining mills. With the two mills that shut down here we lost close to 600 direct jobs. That's a pretty significant number considering that the total population is around 10,000.
Starting to see a lot of travel trailers pop up for sale around here too.
