Default Oil/filter

What is your preferred oil/filter for your 3.5? I currently run Mobil 1 and a Motorcraft filter with changes at 4K miles. I have considered changing to Amsoil oil/filter.

What you are doing is good. You could even go to 5000 for OC's, just don't follow the stupid IOLM B.S..

Glad this was brought up, because it's been at least 2 or 3 days since the last oil thread.

Oil, wow, so many choices. Mobil1 is fine, send in for the rebates. Kirkland synthetic is also good.
No reason to change from the Motorcraft filter. Buy in bulk on Rockauto if you change often.

4000 miles sounds low for synthetic, you could likely go to 5-7k.

Don't buy scamsoil, it's unnecessary especially at your OCI.

Don’t guess. Send a sample out for UOA to know the exact condition of your oil.

Otherwise I recommend you use only the most expensive $20/qt oil you can find and replace it every 1,000 miles or 30 days whichever comes first.

Or trust the IOLM Ford put in your truck.
