Default Oil Drain Plug

Anyone try this Dorman part for a fix to the drain plug issue on our trucks? 2018 5.0L, but I assume this would apply to all models in this area. Supposed to keep the oil from splashing all over the sway bar without removing it. Looking for any feedback from anyone who has actually used it.

Haven't tried it, but I'm about due for my first oil change. Maybe I'll pick one up and report back...

There has been a similar thread a few months ago. I think the general consensus was "if you are going to buy that just buy the Fumoto Valve.

I doubt I can find that thread now but if history repeats itself, that's what you'll hear.

Well, unless Fumoto pulls one out of their *** before the next oil change, this should be considered.

Does that mean Fumoto does not currently make a drain valve the this particular application?

My bad....didn't know better. I'll go to the corner now.

I didnt realize that the 5.0 uses that same stupid yellow plastic plug as the 3.5. Does the Ronin plug work for the 5.0 then? Cause that plug is the way to go, so long as you can get past the price.

For $16.99 it would have to be pretty bad to be a disappointment, compared to what I believe to currently be one other option.

Maybe I meant to say Ronin.

I'm going to dismiss myself from this thread.

Fumoto does not sell a quarter turn plastic drain plug version yet. A few users here are beta testing them though, so expect it to come on the market soon (hopefully).

I would personally not trust a Dorman plug when it comes to keeping oil in the engine.
