Default OEM Tires on 2017 FX4

Hi All,

Wondering if the experts around here can share their thoughts...

I just traded up from a 2013 FX4 to a 2017 XLT/ FX4 3.5L Ecoboost. First off, the 2017 is an amazing truck. This is my first brand new car ever and I can't stop driving it. Smooth ride, quiet, powerful and more!

That said, I was just looking around the truck and noticed that my full size spare doesn't match what's on the vehicle. The spare is a Pirelli Scorpion AT4 275 65 R18 while what's on the truck are Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT same size.

My questions are:

1 - shouldn't the spare match what's on the vehicle
2 - shoudln't the FX4 have come with the AT tires?

Thanks in advance!

If your spare matched you'd be the first.... at least from what I've seen posted.

Not sure about stock tires but I believe that is a common tire with your trim and package.

The Goodyear HT's seems to be the standard tire for the 18" XLT/FX4 package.

****ty tires are standard on all F150's.

If you need to travel over Snow, start thinking of getting some new ones for this Winter.

My 17 Lariat Fx4 came with the Hankook Dynapro ATM's. They are technically an AT tire but at a 6-ply (I think, could only be a 4) they aren't much of one. I had them on my 13 F150 and they were chewed to bits after less than 25k.

That's what I have as well. Haven't heard much talk about how they do in snow/ice.

The spares don't match. Like when your truck comes with 20"s and your spare is a steel 18" with different brand of tire. It's all dollars and cents. ( except raptor which gets you a full matching rim and tire)

The dynapro ATM is probably the best factory tire I had for mild off road like I do. Works ok/well on snow and ice too.

Pull them off and sell them right away if not to your liking. Easy to sell new take offs

Thank you! I think I'm going to just run them. They feel fine on the road. (Quiet)

Yep it's kind of strange that an FX4(off-road) comes with highway tires but a Sport 4x4 comes with all terrains. I think Ford got that one backwards!
