OE Splash guards - feedback?
Curious for those that have installed the molded OE splash guards - how do you like them? Do they keep mud/slush/gravel off the truck body?
I've seem some splash guards before that do more harm than good - trap dirt, scratch/scuff paint, cause rust (not issue on aluminum)...
Are they worth installing?

I live on a dirt road that has potholes and is always muddy, so some type of protection is an absolute requirement.
I went went these:

The front flaps went on pretty easily, but the back ones have an added metal bar that makes the installation a little more challenging, but not out of reach of a few hand tools.
So far they have been fantastic, they really do keep this mud from splashing up on the truck (as long as you are not blasting through the holes)... And with almost 8" of rain in the past 5 days, I would say they have certainly been tested!

doesn't sound like they are that bad... I may go ahead and install them... I have them sitting in a box lol... Was just on the fence about using them or not... thnx for the feedback
Installed mine yesterday, they look fine. I have had them on my 09 and 12 models and I think I like these the best. The installation instructions are not that great, more catered toward trucks without the wheel lip moldings. Just hold the splash guard up against the wheel opening and it is pretty obvious where to place the clips and what plastic plugs to remove /replace. No need to remove wheels.
I ordered them for my truck, if anyone has any tips for the install it would be appreciated. Not that handy. LOL. Dealer wnated $80 to do the install and I said no way it can't be that hard. Then they said they have to remove the wheels to get them on. Yeah right.

Super easy too install. The front installs with 4 push on clips and the rear pretty much the same way with the addition of a support bar. You will have to get under the truck for the rears.
I have a set of OE molded splash guards on a ’99 Silverado which will be traded in this Wednesday on a new F150. After 16 Minnesota winters that Chev doesn’t have a fleck of rust on the body and splash guards probably helped with that.
However, the molded type have a forward-facing lip which catches slush and I was constantly kicking off big frozen chunks. It appears Ford makes a “heavy duty” guard which is flat rubber that flexes back. It seems this would shed slush better so I may try a set of those.
The heavy duty ones also appear to be bigger which is not a bad thing IMHO. Pretty soon the annual process of rebuilding MN highways will begin again and there will be fresh tar and paint stripes all over the State. Bigger flaps probably don’t look that great but handsome is as handsome does.

Any pictures on how that support bar goes on in the rear the pictures/instructions aren't that clear.
