No drive mode...
2018 Lariat SC 3.5 EB, 4WD, Floor Shifter
I noticed yesterday when I went to switch to sport mode that the DM button does nothing, no matter the transmission position. The front instrument panel also has no indication of what drive mode I’m in, usually there’s supposed to be a “N” or “Normal” and when I hit the DM button the screen gives no indication (no graphic switching between modes). There are no engine faults, check engine lights or wrench light...the truck hasn’t had any other issues/mods/repairs since the last time I put it in sport mode, which I don’t remember exactly when that was but I’m thinking about two weeks ago...any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

Maybe try pulling the negative (-) on the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps?
My fiance's uncle has a Fusion that had some weird things going on with the electronics and radio.
Everything seemed to work, but there was no sound coming out of the stereo, and you couldn't change the source.
Pulled the negative for 5 minutes, popped it back on, and everything was back to normal.
At least this way you can isolate if it's an electrical issue or maybe just a loose connection to the DM button.

Thanks for the feedback...I will disconnect the battery when I get home.
My concern is there is no drive mode displayed on the instrument panel...would that input be coming through the DM switch?
Thanks again for the help.

I’ve looked through the manual, I didn’t see anything other than pushing the DM button to bring up the drive modes. I thought that maybe a MYKey was active or something like that but neither key is set up for that. I put the transmission through all the 4WD modes, traction control, hill descent...nothing. Not sure if there is something simple I’m missing or something deeper...I sure would hate to waste time at the dealership...

The only other thing I can think of is a Master Reset, don't know if that will work with the shifter or not. Worth a try, but you will have to redo all your settings. When mine came in I drove it right off the transport. Nothing showed up because dealer said it was in transport mode. I was not there when they took it out, but assume it was a master reset.
