Default New TPMS

Swapping out wheels I broke a sensor, so I ordered a new one and installed it. It is an OEM part.
I put the truck into programming mode according to the manual and of course all the original sensors read fine, the last sensor which is the new one will not read.
I did drive the truck around to "activate" the sensor but still nothing. Have repeated procedure and driven the truck 3 times now and nothing.

Is there anything special I need to do to "activate" that one sensor?
Or just go to discount tire and have them do it?

Did you buy the correct one? Same part number as the broken one?

This is the one I bought
F2GT-1A180-AB which was replaced by this part number F2GZ-1A189-A
The old one was basically destroyed (last wheel) so a quick google search gave me this part number.

Sensors on a 2016 will self program, you shouldn't have to do anything. I had new OEM sensors (I purchased online and brought them in) put in my new wheels a few months back and specifically told the guys at Discount Tire not to do any programming because I wanted to verify that they would. It took about 45 minutes of driving before they registered, but they did and have been fine ever since.

Well
Drive an hour to work this morning and still doesn’t recognize it. I rotated the tires and the truck still shows the fault on right front. Sensor is back left so it doesn’t know where what tire is at.
Driving another hour home now so will see

That's pretty weird... there was a lot of conflicting info out there that many people were stating as fact when I was researching what I needed to do about mine. One guy at DT swore up and down that my truck WOULD NOT self program, and that it was earlier trucks that would. From most of what I found, that's exactly opposite. Nevertheless, I know that mine did and unfortunately he wasn't there the day we actually put the wheels on so that I could show him he was wrong.

That was my impression. That they would self program.
It may be that it’s because one went “missing” I guess you could say. It threw things out of wack.
I’ll just stop by discount tomorrow

Are you sure of what frequency you bought? That part # is pulling up some listings for 433Mhz and 315Mhz. You need the 315Mhz version.
