Default New tool box

I got tired of my mx4 back flip. Now I'm going to put a low pro toolbox on the back. What color would you pick the shinny diamond plate or the black powder coated one? I'm on the fence. Here's a pic of the Truck.New tool box-photo888.jpg

Were you not considering a 4 Runner? Change your mind already? I would go with black in your truck for sure.

Black. The polished aluminum is a large area, and stands out too much. The black isn’t quite so... loud and obvious. And after awhile, the polished aluminum tends to dull and requires too much attention to maintain it’s appearance. But that’s just my personal opinion.

Hard to say. Do you have any lower resolution pictures from further away?

I have a black one. Personal preference, because I hate chrome.

None. A toolbox takes up too much space with the 5.5' bed.

What's wrong with your MX4? Should have a 5yr warranty and they are pretty good with support if you have issues.

I've seen cases where they simply want a picture of your existing cover unusable/unsellable and they send you an entire new unit.

It's worn out. And I haul a lot of stuff in the back. Honestly the mx4 was a waste of money. Does hold up very well all along the coast.

Depending on what you haul the tool box will be in the way. I had one on mine for a few months before I took it off for good. I could not get to the tie downs on the front of the bed most of the time. When I had to haul cabinets, it took me two extra loads because of the limited space to stand them upright. I now have a Extang Full Tilt cover on it that I can take off in a few minutes (or my wife can). Just something to keep in mind depending on what you haul.

UWS makes a slim toolbox. Could be a better compromise between bed space and toolbox storage: https://www.uwsta.com/part/EC10842
