Default New Sony system

My wife just purchased a 2017 Explorer Platinum. One of the first things I noticed was how much better her premium Sony system sounded compared to mine. Gotta say I'm a little jealous. The only other stock system I've heard that sounded better was the Bang & Olufsen in the Audi A5 we looked at.http://m.ford.com/content/MobileFord...atinum?index=1

I recently got out of a 2015 F150 Platinum with the Sony sound system and got a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, which has the 19 speaker Harmon Kardon system.

The Jeep system makes the Ford sound like an AM radio with bad reception.

I know what ya mean when you say how bad the F150 system is.

I never said the Ford system is bad. It's lacking compared to others premium systems. The new Ford premium system (linked) is actually quite impressive. That Kardon system in the Jeep is nice. If you want to hear what can really be done with a stock system check out the Bang & Olufsen in the upper Audi models. It's better than the Mark Levinson auto systems.

I would like a REAL premium offer from Ford on our sound system. I know we can do it ourself with aftermarket but I'd pay extra for a factory option. I take it seriously at home and would like the same in my truck without someone messing with it after I drive it off the lot.

Default Ford partnering with B&O Play

Looks like Ford will be getting a premium audio offering starting next year...

This make sense because Lincoln already uses Revel as their premium brand (which really does sound fantastic for OEM audio).

Itd sure be nice, because the Sony stereos, are terrible...

I mean the F150, is Fords #1 seller! Why not put a Premium stereo in it, that 75% of buyers will be happy with! Without a need to go aftermarket, seems like a great move to me...

We know most dont care for the Sony stereos. Theyre marginal, at best...

Thanks for the info and link. That's great news and B & O really makes some great audio systems. Once people start hearing these systems I think they'll be surprised. It might just be the difference between someone casually looking and signing some paperwork. Good move Ford!
