Heres how dealers think (sadly).

“If it can drive to the shop nothing is wrong with it”.

Next time it makes some noises, I’d call roadside assistance and tell them you don't feel safe driving it. When it shows up on a flatbed, the dealer will be more inclined to take it seriously.

if nothing else start building your case file for a lemon law buyback.

I think all or at least the vast majority of us agree. It's getting the Dealerships to agree, they basically check the welds and say it's good because they left the factory of the hitch OEM that way.

That would be funny if it weren't sometimes true.

All dealerships no matter the make, should have a gigantic sign right above the service writer's desk saying just that:

Actually, I finally was able to contact Ford about these issues. They have two responses that are equally preposterous:
1. That truck is does not qualify for our buyback program because you registered it in your business name. I asked her: "Have you seen any Ford truck commercial, ever, where the truck wasn't on a jobsite or pulling some commercial equipment?"
2. We got a report from the dealer that they have released the vehicle back to you, and it is operating as designed.

So, since I have a business and HAVE to have a truck to use, and knew that this one is out for a while with no help, and I will at least sell, I bought a new F350. You know, tried and true power train and all. Got it home and set up the Ford app, whatever it is called. First thing that came up was a service bulletin! The same freakin day that I picked it up! And, the Bang Olufsen sound system sounds like crap- at least two of the speakers are blown and sound like they have parts rattling around inside. So now I have to bring it in for service. It's a joke... a bad joke.

And you somehow evaded the oil consumption issue.

Good luck. Hope something good comes out of this.

Actually it was burning a lot but I think the rings seated at about 15-18k. That's our theory anyway.

Thanks for the well wishes.

With my dirt bike rack on.
Nice nice to have a new truck and have people pointing at you laughing.

That's awful, and no excuse for it. Where is pride in workmanship, you would think they would be ashamed.

Has anyone actually gone under the truck and looked at the hitch? Wondering if it's a simple fix like adjusting the mounting or if the actual receiver is bent?
