New map update & Sync 3.4
I ordered the new usb map update for my 19 Limited, said I needed Sync 3.3 when I ordered, which I have. Received the thumb drive, the instructions said I need Sync 3.4, but the trouble shooting guide says need 3.3 in several places. I have map NA 1 17. I plugged it in, went through all the pre loading screen info which went okay, then drove truck for one hour and twenty minutes, no restarts on screen, did not say downloading complete, no messages of any kind. Wife did turn on massaging seats, don't know if that screwed anything up or not. Any suggestions???
I was not able to install the download option so I ordered the flash drive from ALOM for my 2019 F150 and Ranger - both at v3.3 Build 19052..
I too noticed the map update I received from ALOM states requires v3.4. That's not what the instructions from the website state. Perhaps that's why I was not able to get the download option to install.
I also noticed 2 of the files on the flash drive are a larger file size than the download version of the same file

I also got a notice through FordPass that there was a map update from 1-18 to 1-19. My Sync 3.3 build is also 19052. I was able to download the files to a USB and performed the update. System said update was complete. Cycled the engine. Got notice essentially saying "Update Complete" but my map version still shows 1-18.
If I had a smidgen of confidence someone at Ford might have the slightest clue as to what's going on, it might be worth a call. But since I don't, I'm not even going to waste the time dialing the number. Very disappointing.

I think the software company just made an extra $40 bucks off of us. I went to Ford Sync3 map update web site, entered my VIN, it said I needed this update, so I ordered the thumb drive thinking it would work fine. No such luck. Will probably try one more time, then, just will write off the forty bucks. But it is a bummer, my maps are really out dated for the new roads in my area.
Who the hell thinks Ford can build an electric truck? Musk is sending astronauts to the cosmos. Ford can't even update a navigation map 2.5 years out of date.
At least I didn't waste $40 on the stick drive.
And to my knowledge, there is no approved upgrade from V3.3 to v3.4, correct?

I updated my ‘18 Raptor 3 days ago with new maps and just updated my ‘20 Lariat. The Raptor had Sync 3.0 and the Lariat has 3.4. Both updated without a hitch... I’ll say that it did take about an hour and 20 minutes each vehicle to complete the update. Both vehicles were done with the download, not a purchased USB. Sorry y’all are having issues.
