Not a fan of that rendering. But I would be interested in seeing one, if they were to return

Yea it sure would be sweet to release the Lightning again. Imagine if they put the Gt350 engine in it. Knowing my luck Ford will announce its release one day after I take delivery next year when I order a 2016.

i'd rather see the 5.8 GT500 engine in it. the 5.2 from the gt350 is a flat plane crank for fast and high revving for street applications. the lightning, to me is more of a speed monster like the gt500 and the 5.8 would suit it better. that would be crazy, 662 HP AWD!!

2.7 in a Lightning is a joke. Has to be V8, supercharged or Turbo. Lightning fans did not accept the Tremor package with the 3.5 Eco. It was almost a second slower to 60 than the last lighting. 2.7 in the lighter body would not be any better. AS a former Lighting owner, only a REAL V8 lightning will do.
