Some folks will never be able to wrap their heads around the 2.7 being as successful as it is and attribute it to anything else like it being forced on consumers, marketing, or some other push.

The reality of it is that it as an excellent engine in the platform, and most of us who purchased one are getting exactly what we were looking for. Sometimes the truth is simpler than trying to come up with reasons why others might see things differently...

Read the Ward's link, and read that the 2.7 comes up with comparable torque to the 5.0, with the peak coming on at significantly lower RPM than the 5.0, and its little wonder why the 2.7 feels at home in the F150.

The real beauty is that we have all sorts of choices - with 5 engine platforms to choose from now

The real data would be how many sales based on customer ordering. I'm willing to bet most of the orders were 3.5 ecoboost

I rest my case...

Try to pull out whatever specific subgroup you want, but the data is the data...

I ordered mine with the 2.7...no need for the 3.5

Statistically one in seven dwarfs are Dopey. Or only one in seven dwarfs are Happy. Lincoln has different engine chooses today then the normal Ford run.

agreed...I used to be one of the biggest anti eco boost guys...when it came due to turn in my 2016 lease which was a 5.0 truck , I decided to take a 2.7 with the 10 speed home overnight..i was SOLD.

2.7 L = 2,700 cc

difference of 300 cc
÷ 6 cylinders = 50 cc per cylinder increase

OOps, meant liter, not cc. My bad. Stroker kit!

OK, found what I was looking for. The 3.0 is based off the 2.7EcoBoost
2.7 Nano 2,694 cc (164.4 cu in) 2015–present DOHC V6 EcoBoost
3.0 Nano 2,967 cc (181.1 cu in) 2016-present DOHC V6

I would like to know where the 75hp increase came from as the torque is the same as the 2018's F150. Would add upper rpm punch to go with the low end.
