I have a 2019 w/ Sync 3.3 with vehicle build date of 01/16/19 and don't have the network connection error. Should I still update? Does the update smoke all your settings and any apps like Android Auto?

I had the same question and issue. Took the truck to the dealer. He said there were no updates, went in to the settings menu and unchecked the auto update box. No pop up since.

Thanks for this info. I didn't go to the dealer, yet but I did go into the settings menu and unchecked the auto update. I haven't had a pop up since.
I'll ask about it when it goes in for it's 1st service.
Thanks everybody!!

You should probably check to see what the Build # is on your Sync 3 software. You may already have the latest software. - Build 19052

No that is definitely not the latest software for Sync 3 v3.3. The latest version is Build 19052. The Build you have was plagued with lots of issues. I suggest updating to the latest software version. If you don't have the skills and/or ability, take it to your dealer, make them aware of the concern and reference this TSB:

New 2019 Limited.
How do you update the SW? I ran the check for latest update and nothing came up. Mine has 18xxx version and not the 19052. Connected to wifi and auto update turned on. Do you need to wait xxx period of time for the update to be found then downloaded? How long is that?

I have never been able to successfully update the Sync 3 software wirelessly although others claim they have.

Go to the Ford Owner website, register and from there you can download the latest Sync 3 software update to a USB flash drive and install manually.

Or since you are still under Bumper to Bumper warranty do as I suggested to Harry2019 as this is a known issue with a TSB for supporting documentation. However, don't expect your dealer to update Sync 3 free of charge in the future without this type of documentation as Sync 3 updates are the customer's responsibility - not warrantable.

I found out I have an outdated version of the software, 18 something. I'm not real tech savy and saw this on the Ford owner site:

"This software contains all previous enhancements, so there is no need to install any other updates. The installation of this update will take up to 60 minutes to complete. DO NOT remove your USB drive or turn off your vehicle. You must wait until Installation Complete is displayed on the center screen before removing your drive or turning your vehicle off.

While the update is loading, SYNC will not recognize your mobile phone or media device. Be sure your vehicle engine is running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you initiate the installation process, once the download process has begun, you may drive your vehicle."

Did you guys idle your trucks for an hour or what does the process look like?

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Greg
