Need help - the center console debacle
I am searching for a 2017-2020 used truck, but want the center console. I can't figure out which packages I should be selecting to find this. I can't find any commonality. I tried selecting navigation thinking that most of them coming with nav have a center console and that's not working either.
My searches bring up 300 cars for example in a range of my area, but yet maybe 100 of them have the center console and the rest don't.
Am I missing something?

XLT or Lariat w/ Sport appearance is guaranteed to have it and will have console shift. 502A Lariat will have it. Lariat King Ranch and up will have it.
Otherwise, it depends: XL trucks with 101A pkg comes standard with the 40/20/40 bench but can be optioned with the console. Same with any equipment group on the XLT or Lariat - can be added as option.
XL with STX pkg for some years came with the flow-through center console standard. I believe in '19 and 20 it was an additional option and the 40/20/40 bench was standard.
You'll want to look at the window sticker for 40/Console/40 or check the pics.
My truck is an odd ball, up optioned 302A XLT with 40/20/40 jump seat as I need to be able to seat 6.
You can also swap in a console if you want, though I don't have the info on how to do this.

There's no easy way to search this then...
Are there big differences in 2018 vs 2017 other than front grille?
Depends what powerplant. The 3.5EB was a new gen in '17 and was paired with the 10 speed
In 18 the 5.0 went to the Gen 3 and was paired with the 10 speed transmission. Some prefer the older setup with the Gen2 engine and 6 speed. I'm in the 18+ camp myself and wouldn't give up the 10 speed.
The 2.7 also was revised and got dual fuel injection (direct and port) and was paired with the 10 speed. I believe that change also happened in 18.
