Need help with Android Auto XL
I haven't been able to use Android Auto on the truck with Google maps. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I open the driving directions through Android Auto on the phone and plug it into the USB on the truck but it never works.
There must be something I need to do with the truck or the phone or both, but I'm not sure what it is. Everything I find online is directions for the Sync systems that are touchscreen and/or Nav. I have neither as this is an XL with the 4" screen.
If someone can help I would be very grateful as printing out directions and having to constantly check them when I'm driving is annoying and distracting. And these days you aren't allowed to look at your phone anymore either to check them on there.
I had no problems connecting the phone via bluetooth and being able to make and receive hands free phone calls or have it read me a text message.

You need an 8" screen for android auto or apple CarPlay.
As a workaround:
If you connect your phone by bluetooth you should receive audible directions from google maps through your stereo.
Sometimes you need to check google maps settings and enable the setting to send directions as a phone call alert or something along those lines to have your stereo play the notifications over your audio source.
