Default Necessary to reset BMS with same battery?

Is it necessary to reset the BMS if you replace the battery with the same kind/type?

I disabled my BMS, no reason for it.

How do you reset the BMS? Sounds like if you ever do a KAM reset, you have to do this? I've never done anything with the BMS, and don't know how, and really, never heard of it.

There is a reason for it.... otherwise Ford wouldn't bother putting the function in place

Thanks Mike, looks like when just replacing, and not disconnecting to do a KAM reset.

I understand a BMS reset is needed. They do not mention this in the OM. They only mention letting it 'sleep' overnight to learn the new state of charge. This is why it comes up often.
They should make the BMS reset available to the consumer rather than requiring a trip to the dealer. Its my understanding in Europe, there is a sequence of button presses to do the reset.
