What steps are involved in removing from truck + how do ya safely take the emblem apart?

Looks good and different, I did mine in metallic black but for some reason it didn't come out right. It doesn't look near as good as my previous ones.

I believe there is a thread floating around on this forum or another. Once you get the emblem off the truck you can drill out the plastic welds on the back of the emblem and it will come apart. There are plastic welds for the main badge and then some small ones for the ring. Just don't drill all the way through the badge. I use superglue to put it back together.

yes drill out all the big blue rivets on the back was easy. i used a hobby knife to cut the the little ones for the outer ring/oval was a little difficult .

removing the emblem from the tailgate can be a bitch i suggest have a extra set of hands so you don't scratch the paint. to get to the emblem from the inside of the gate just remove the inside top cover which is bolted on which torqx screws.

what i did was purchased a emblem from my local dealer for 16$ so i could spent a few days painting it so my tailgat wouldn't have any open holes.
