They had to correct something on mine. Can’t tell in the least bit it was corrected and I was lucky as I brought it back a week or so after buying it. I noticed it when I went to get the plates and was installing them. It was a small chip in the corner at the bottom of the tailgate.

Hats off to Helfman Ford.

My truck was also transferred from another dealer. They claimed the damage was not from the factory, so only my dealership would fix it. The closer dealership wouldn't touch it.

Asking for a new truck is absurd. Have it repaired. If it DID happen at the factory and was repaired there, he would never know and still have a repainted panel.

My repair is perfect, and I do visual inspections on metal parts for a living.
Any other questions?

one texas dealer would not go near again is Legacy Ford. Have saved 2 people from going there. Mine was damaged
they said would fix it. LOL LOL LOL after you buy that all changed. Just brought a bed mat/tailgate mat and forgot
about it. All have to do is lift it up and show someone how a vehicle is delivered from Legacy, they are losing sales.
Sent a good amount of pics to Ford Corporate, got the BS letters, but not a word from the dealership who they said
would contact. They also don't honor online price quotes, blames the salesman for sending wrong information.

I like Helfman Ford in Houston. I judge dealers by how fast I can get in and out on a new purchase. If they waste less than 2 hours of my time I don’t feel like taking a dump on the finance managers desk.

Not a big fan of Tommie Vaughn Ford, their service department is crap. Their sales staff is rude too.

With that said I’m buying a used truck next week with 3000 miles on it and selling my F150; I need a new work truck and don’t see the purpose in having 2 newer trucks. Really happy I don’t have to mess with any dealers, I feel slimmy walking in those places like a $40,000 millionaire..

I got a brand new mustang and as soon as I got home I detailed the car (told them not to touch the paint) when I was detailing I noticed the bumper didn't line up and the paint was scratched where they probably hit something on the lot. After debating with them they finally got me a new bumper and painted it but it never got close to matching and they refused to do another one.

Pretty sure that unlike other purchases, once you sign on the dotted line, the truck is yours. I would be Very surprised if he got another vehicle. Dealers don`t buy back brand new vehicles, Ford does & that`s usually after putting the customer through the ringer. Your dad`s problem is a warranty issue IMHO. Good luck.

Have you seen how they load vehicles on train cars and haulers? One in ten having an exterior scrape or dent would not surprise me.

The more defects that people accept the more defects get passed on. I work in manufacturing, and some places do what is called "salt and peppering". Spread a batch of defects out over a large production run, so they don't have to eat the cost of fixing it and it looks like an honest mistake. Pretty common. Ford might even have a file on that truck with a plan in place of what they'll offer. If there's one, there's probably others. A jig was out of place or a new trainee screwed up.

He should at least get some sort of concession, like free maintenance, a discount on the cost, or extended warranty.

I get it, but doesn't make it any more acceptable to me as a buyer. If you're O.K with a brand new vehicle that needs paint or body work, by all means enjoy. If a dealer calls that fine and normal, I'll find a new dealer next time around - got plenty to choose from. Not to loop all paint and body techs together, but they are under pressure to get the job done quickly and that doesn't usually mean quality.

Just picked my '18 Race Red up from them - someone clipped me changing lanes, tore off the front bumper and put a very slight crease in the left fender. They did a perfect job. Great body shop!
